Its Sunday again and I'm playing poet instead doing something more constructive.
This is the third draft of this poem and so far its not turning out to be a master piece.
When I was writing the second draft, I covered some stupid
metaphor for the Mir space station in blue and tapped the delete button.
It was supposed to represent feeling like
your at the absolute peak of the world,
with everything you know under your feet
but you still cant see your hand in-front of
your face because the isolation is so
suffocatingly dense.
It was really pretentious... so I just deleted it.

I always found the word pretentious pretentious. As for the pretentious metaphor...I would just say loneliness. Simplicity is best as my pop (my father, not a soda or a coke, or a soft drink ) always said. |

Been there. You get this great inspiration, yet can't get it to materialize in words. |
