Shades and Flame

Glowing embers of burnt timber litter the sky,
As the life within the forest begins to die.
The rocks, moss, and streams shine bright,
All from the wild dancing firelight.
Young Nomads silhouettes wave and twist,
And Their breathing creates a chilling mist.
They slowly turn and take off with haste.
As they morph this village to utter waste.
The screams howl out in midnight air,
Along with smells of cooked flesh and hair.
The nomads dash away into the green,
And leave behind this grissly scene.
Citizens from young to old,
Embrace Death’s dark hold.
Stars do not shine their beloved light,
Not today on this horrid night.
