Dear Diary

Contributed by MiaPeterson on Saturday, 11th December 2010 @ 04:34:36 AM in AEST
Topic: mystical

It's Friday night, but I feel like staying home
My phone keeps ringing, but I'm not going to answer
I'm alright, but I'd rather be stay alone
Now I'm searching for something through one of my drawers

Dear diary, let me open up to you
Dear diary, hang on to every word I mean
Dear Diary, tell me if you think I'm a fool
I won't mind, because you're my dear diary

Dear diary, to you my hear is transparent
And so are my thoughts
I'm outspoken, but believe me, I wouldn't
Do that with a lot
Because, my dear diary, I'm delighted by your presence
And all the blank pages you own
And each time I finish a sentence
I let everything be known

A sweet, innocent, carefree diary
That's what I'd say you are
You clear up my thoughts when they're blurrry
Just like you do with my scars
Which, by the way, are only a few left
Almost all of them are gone
But I must confess that I do dread
The thought that I won't be able to move on...

A diary, an old familiar accepting friend non judgemental, always there but especially for freedom of expression, self expression.A lovely warmth running through this.... because you're my dear diary....and a healing process of old scars and efficiency with dealing with life and all it throws reflecting a strong personality right through till the end where insecurity surfaces for just a mention but a powerful mention.......maybe as the driving force for the rest of the poem. Strong reflective write well written

This poem reflects our need as humans to be heard, even if it is only a blank page whom is receptive to our thoughts and emotions. I loved the line, "all the blank pages you own". Who would of thought a blank page could be so valuable.

Good job.

This is very nice. I love blank pages as well. The begining grabbed me better than the ending. Keep writing. :)
This was my fav line.

'I won't mind, because you're my dear diary'

I completely agree with @DrcGaimer.
Nice work, by the way.
Very clever and thoughtful.
I like it how you implied that writing makes you feel better.

"You clear up my thoughts when they're blurrry"

This is so true once we put every single word in the diary whats in our heart and mind and whatever is going in our surroundings, we get cleared up and light weight.
Dear Dairy holds our burden which sometimes get hard to hold and it holds for us.
Very nice, great work

Takecare

I express myself through art and literature, so in a way, poetry is my diary, so it is ironic that you are writing a poem about a diary :)
