The beast

And the beast woke from his hibernation,
Coiling dark tendrils of need around conviction,
Leaving but a hole of smouldering dissolution.
And as it clambers out of it's prison,
All that has been created has no reason,
And ideas fragment like light in a prism,
As the night withdraws,
The beast retracts his claws,
Examine your flaws,
Yet time passes and the beast will slumber,
So content with it's lot, a teenage blunder,
A bride for life, I shouldn't wonder.

It's always a pleasure to read something that creates stunning imagery and this piece does exactly that. Painful yet conveyed in a creative way you lure the reader into a piece about the demons that drive our cravings. Awesome write.
