Finding Myself

Contributed by butterflyperfect on Sunday, 5th December 2010 @ 06:54:11 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

I started to find myself today
Hiding in my room
In small little places
I forgot were there

I started to find myself today
When I picked up my guitar
And I could just enjoy the sound
And nothing else

I started to find myself today
In a notebook with my thoughts
Reminding me of who I was
After all this time

I started to find myself today
Realizing just how much I've changed
Who I became was a stranger
That wasn't me

I started to find myself today
And it felt great
To have the true me back
Without hiding behind a mask

I started to find myself today
It made a smile cross my face
I thought I was lost forever
And now I know I'm not

I started to find myself today
And I really do hope to stay

I know how you feel. I wasn't myself for the last two years, and only in the last 3 months or so have I gotten back to my roots. It feels awesome.
