words that shifted
from my lips &
dodged the feelings
of my heart that
fell on deaf ears

made of mud &
arms of stone

I have always enjoyed your writing elle because it's smart and there is always something quite profound beneath the surface of your words and I love when a writer can do that. This is nothing short of exceptional and it's a pleasure as always to read your work.

| That feeling of giving in or giving up has haunted me many times your words struck up some old memories. This was a great poem, and I imagine took a lot to write great job! |

Brilliant!!! I love the way this seems to be one long exhale after taking this deep breath as you let it all out. I also love the way you express the fact that you were giving and then with the same exact words gave up in the end. Been there, done that but not quite so eloquently in poetic verse.
