7 PM

Contributed by Outspoken on Thursday, 2nd December 2010 @ 10:21:19 PM in AEST
Topic: drugabuse

Sitting on a bare mattress
clipping cigarette filters
with a shiny new pair of scissors
helping my roommate get his fix
while my girlfriend cooks up more
as she reads her law books.
Jared lets slip the needle and
as it meets skin and vein
he flinches, inhales, ex
and he's slumping forward.
Heather needs baking soda
and complains about cooking dope
so I kiss her and tell her little white lies
about how we're getting out of the game
but we both know we're not.
"Wheres the cellophane?"
She points to her pack of smokes.
I crush two yellow pills
and snort them off of 'Chemistry 101.'
She asks me to watch the pan for her
as she walks away to smoke.
Hours later Jared wakes up
and Heathers done cooking
so she gives him the dope to flip.
He exits.
I tell Heather I love her and start
making moves but
I get shot down, she has class in an hour.
"Okay," I say even as my hand moves down her hip.
She tells me she serious and I get *****.
She says, "Not when your high."
"I'm always high."
"Exactly."
And she leaves.
I spark a bowl and fall asleep.

The intensity of this write is awesome and the reality is pure and just as intense. Too numb to find anything worth your time other than the constant search for that perfect high. This was well done.

Addiction to anything is wrong
Let it be even divine nectar
Moderation alone will help
Mother's deep love is bad
As it might affect the child
Too much of anything is
Truly good for nothing
Or anything beyond moderation
Will create an unstable foundation
Here addiction is very much there
We must make the younger ones
Come out of the grip of drugs
Love, kindness and true concern
Will save a soul surely from doom
May the Almighty give us the power
To use wit and wisdom to win
Over evils with maximum tact
May God bless this poor humanity
A nice write revealing addiction
Which will invariably take to hell.

Such a sad, honest write. This hit me hard.
Please show her she's more important than your habit.
