Hiding in the shadows
Running from the past
Wishing in my heart
That the pain will be over fast
Tears fall down my cheek
A waterfall of hate
In myself from what I did
And knowing I'm far too late
I can't be a hero
But I hate to see you go
I tried to save you
But I am far too slow
The rapid grip of death
Held you in its grasp
No matter how hard I tried
I couldn't undo that clasp
Now I sit here thinking
Of all the times we've shared
All the moments we spent
Telling each other how much we cared
How do I live without you
I need you to come back
Protect me from all the pain
My strength has begun to lack
I miss you more than ever now
And I can't believe you're not here
To help me walk this road
That now alone I fear
I don't want to live
Without you by my side
With me and protecting me
Always helping guide
But I have to face the truth
You will not return
Our past is turned to ash
As in the fire it will burn
Goodbye I miss you
You'll always be in my heart
Death is the evil
That tore us apart

Incredible write!! I'm sorry for your loss a very heart felt poem. Great job penning this even though a difficult subject to write about.
"Tears fall down my cheek
A waterfall of hate
In myself from what I did
And knowing I'm far too late" - great lines... |

This is a tender, emotional and bitter-sweet poem. I felt your heart in this write.
I too am sorry for your loss.

A really beautiful poem
Containing colossal sense
Penned with superb skill
I have to compulsorily pat
Or else I am a fool
As a great write is made
Using skill in language
I feel proud to appreciate
As truth must be told. |
