Perceived by a Glance

Topic: BirthdayPoems

Does heaven actually exist in this place?
My question was answered when I saw your face.
Such poise, beauty, warmth and grace,
A single glance given caused my heart to race.

First thing I noticed was your sparkling eyes,
That shined like the stars that roam in the skies.
The smile I had on I could not disguise,
It was something my face could not help but reprise.

Second thing was your heart warming smile,
Something that gorgeous I’d see from a mile.
I’ll tell you the truth; I’m not one for denial.
I stared for a bit, well maybe a while.

Your posture, your hair, your cheeks and your lips,
Has an allurement that fully outstrips,
Any I’ve see, through all my hardships.
And I’m not using jokes, sarcasm or quips.

I hope you believe these words that I say.
And cherish them dearly; for that I will pray.
And attain your heart in some form or way;
And make this an even more special birthday.
