Death it comes with bitter tears,
with dying hope, and unspent years,
to take away our loved ones who,
we have a fond attachment to.
And in the end you will see,
that time will fade its memory,
but life will always be this way,
some will go and some will stay,
But listen to my words so true,
we will never forget you.

I would think that it would be okay to use names as long as you're not making a personal attack against someone (which obviously you are not) or insulting them (which again you are not). Many of us post poems with the poem itself or an author's note directed at another member. It's acceptable as long as it does not violate the person's privacy or as I said make a personal attack.
I like this poem even though I am not sure I completely agree. I think time only fades the pain, not the memory. Nicely done.
Thanks,
Tim |
