Her eyes were a soft brown
Shoulder length was her hair
We met at a hotel
The time? I didn't care
All this was new to me
I'd never been to France
As the music played I took her hand
And said,'Would you like to dance?'
We stood by the Eiffel Tower
It looked amazing in the dark
We held hands all day long
I thought we'd never be apart
We seemed to talk for hours
And shared a kiss in the moonlight
That's when she said to me
'This doesn't feel right'
I was shocked when she told me
She already had another man
I packed my bags and left
Trying to understand
I write this letter to Paris, with love
You gave me memories I couldn't get enough of
The days were great, the nights I'll never forget
I write this letter to Paris, with regret...

A write of romance til the end is revealed and the hurt begins to show its face. How painful when you are led to believe things are going well and then the door slams in your face to find out you weren't the only one. Emotional and nicely done. |
