The waves are coming, rushing, rising
Engulfing the shore line with incredible ferocity
Stand and watch this view so hypnotising
Not truly understanding the depth, the gravity
The situation becoming ever more desperate
Water incoming with phenomenal speed
People attempting to try to run from it
This is a warning they all must heed
A search to find some higher ground
Safe havens become harder to find
As water circles and flows all around
Fear luck has been none too kind
The screams of anguish are all too clear
And the light of hope is becoming dim
It's now turning into everyone's worst fear
It's time to sink or swim
