Woven Tapestry

Contributed by Sunsetdolphin12 on Sunday, 20th April 2003 @ 10:35:00 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Beauty and woe all in one,
Glittering tears,
Joy or sadness, I know not,
Tis like the last breathe of the wind,
Before a new start, or an end.
Raindrops falling on the sodden ground,
Sparkling in the sunlight,
As if the grass grew gilded.

There’s a yearning in my heart,
That wrenches at my soul,
At times, I could weep from the bitterness of knowing,
That that could never be,
All that I love, I could never grasp,
Though the silver wisps float like a hazy mist,
Beneath the summer sky.

Yet, I swim,
Lost in that sweet dream,
Of a better place to be,
A place of fantasies and a swirling, twirling dance,
A flowing ballet between the powers of Life and Death, Love and Hate,
Each other’s actions balancing the other,
Threads,
Intricately interwoven,
Into a delightful tapestry,
Of carefully, blinding colors.

It’s a perfect harmony,
Smooth and fluid,
Blending in the most unexpected places.
There’s a delicate balance,
Between the wind that lifts a forlorn leaf towards the heavens,
And the force that pulls a ripe, red apple from a tree.
There’s a kind of mystic force,
That gives the wide-eyed child of the forest doe,
To keep the velvet black panther alive.
There’s a subtle power,
That elates the soul when it views thepale moon crown
The mighty, snow-capped mountains,
That tower over the vast and infinite plains.

Yes, and there is always hope,
For hope it is, the needle,
That sews the Light and the Dark,
Threads,
Into
One.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
