If only you really knew,
why I bought that pretty coat for you.
While I waited till you caught a chill,
I'd put it around you, arms around you still.
As a queens train, I'd watch it follow,
hoping thru the night, I'm not left hollow.
While my wish is to be nearer to you.
While your spell catches me like voodoo.
And as my jealousy for the coat would grow,
desiring to touch you, as you should know.
I dream my fingers are in the art you wear.
And I'd hope your pretty heart, you'd share.
To be near you would be my great joy.
And finally, in this life, I'd be one happy boy.
Because thinking about it, who really knew,
I'd reach heaven, by buying a pretty coat for you.
