A New Friend

I found a broken wrist-watch
Flying in the gale
I put it in my pocket
With the penny and the snail.
When I brought it home
I threw it in the den
I was pretty certain
I’d never see that watch again.
I was home a few weeks later
And my other clock had broke
I was in a sorry state
When I felt a painful poke.
I looked down in surprise and saw
My watch’s eager face
Which, to my surprise, was ticking
At an even pace.
And, to this day, it’s still ticking
Right where my old clock used to be
I’m so very glad I found it
And brought it home with me.

This has a really quirky feel to it.
Like it a lot.One of those poems that gives you a warm feeling inside.
Well done.

:) This made me smile.
I've always liked simple poems with good flow and an easy rhyme scheme. |

hi julesxo
and let me say
you're too modest
in everyway
your poem did I just read
and the first one you say
but your poem is so nicely done
i'm almost inclined to say--
No WAY!
a really nice and balanced piece.
looking forward to reading more.
