A Real True Friend

Topic: FriendshipPoetry

*~*It’s not that I don’t understand,
And it’s not that I don’t want to…
It’s just too complex to put in words
In order to tell you…

It’s there in that dark corner,
It’s there behind the tall wall.
Why does it hurt so to know you,
But to love you, not at all?

I’ve only known you a short while,
But in that period of time, I’ve learned a lot.
You’ve said things and done things
That my other friends have not.

As a friend you’ve proved to me
The worthiness of it all.
That a friend should be there to catch you
Instead of just watching you fall.

A friend should have faith
In all that you do.
A friend should be proud
When you pull through.

A real friend can make you smile,
And turn it into a cry.
Then again, friends like you,
Can do it all at one time.

A friend should speak the truth,
Not be afraid to say what troubles the mind.
And when words don’t form sentences,
A warm smile is just fine.

And when one needs to vent,
And let it all out,
A friend should be there,
To hear it all out.

These few among the many,
Are properties I never knew in friendship.
But these things, you have shown me,
And for this, thee, I worship…

Because of you…
I have learned the true meaning of a friend.
And because of you,
I have belief that it will not end.

I have learned not to expect the worse,
And assume you will be like the rest. -
I know now how different you are,
You truly are the best!

So incredible and unique,
You’re absolutely amazing!
And when I am alone or depressed,
This new type of friend, I’m craving.

I’ve never known of such a thing before,
And I guess that’s the beauty of sanity…
Because everyone else is so simplistic,
While you are pushing me to insanity.

You’re mind is full of twists and turns,
And you’re heart is utterly protected.
I hope I portray the same image
That to me, you have projected.

Know that I shall do for you,
What you have done for me.
You may be solely perplex,
But I see through to thee.

It may take a while,
To have the same affect.
But I’m sorry to say,
What you see is what you get…

Thank you for accepting me,
And loving me for me.
And I shall return it all, reflect it,
Soon, you shall see.

I cannot thank you enough,
You shan’t ever know.
Every time we talk and bond,
I can feel our friendship grow.

This is what I’ve always wanted,
Some one so true and real.
Dear Friend, you may never know
The extent of how I feel.

When words don’t form sentences, like I said,
And sentences don’t form thoughts,
You don’t find your voice of any use,
It’s okay if a warm smile’s all you’ve got.

I can read it,
For it is not complex.
It just simply says
I have a real, true friend! *~*
