Missing a Beat

A week has passed since our eyes met
The expectation of seeing you is truly set
I wait in anticipation for our daily time
Without you I am lost without rhyme
Recently it feels like we did connect
In a way I never did expect
I wanted, needed and was filled with desire
When I am with you I never seem to tire
A dream was all I ever did hope
With the dream I found I could cope
I now ask for more to bring you joy
Not like a 50 year old man but like a boy
To see you smile and know you care
To hold your hand and if I dare
Perhaps a kiss, gentle, soft and kind
I have played this out in my mind
I don’t know how to make it real
Were things to end I would feel
Lost empty without hope or life
Surely my life would end in strife.
I suppose, I guess I would be lost
Empty alone too big a cost
You are everything a man could want
Your laughter, smile and occasional stunt
Until I find my way to your heart
Making you happy is my only start
Soon I hope you feel in kind
Love joy and passion I pray you find.
