A second chance

I cast my net into stormy seas
Searching for relief
Boat and soul filled with holes
Stricken blind with grief
No friends have I within the squall
My oars snapped long ago
No catch today but I glimpse
The lighthouse welcome glow
The swells push me closer
Yet present a paradox
I might be saved upon the shores
Or dashed upon the rocks
I offer up a mournful plea
To any who may hear
Spare me from this maelstrom
My life I beg you spare
A massive rift turns me out
I churn beneath the glass
My craft ripped swift away
From my weakened grasp
Fighting the giant beast
With strength in short supply
Gasping for air that will not come
Surely soon I die
Then at once swift in wind
Bends a favor wave
Placed in the bosom of the beach
Mercifully saved
As I gaze out at the ocean
My boat splintered on the shoals
I was given a second chance
To live life to its full
