Loneliness

Contributed by thistle_and_fern on Saturday, 23rd October 2010 @ 04:49:53 PM in AEST
Topic: toughstuff

Loneliness engulfs me - everywhere I turn
Like a cancer eating up my soul
For company I yearn.

Loneliness engulfs me - whatever can I do?
Its bites into my very self
It makes me feel so blue.

Loneliness engulfs me - its driving me insane
In a crowded shopping mall
The darkness has my brain.

Loneliness engulfs me - Im fighting to get free
It strengthens as it goes along
Theres nothing left of me.

Loneliness engulfs everyone every now and then.
Your words simplify the beauty of it, while keeping it real. I enjoyed the reading!

Aww... this is so sad. I really feel for you on this one. You always manage to capture the emotions in your write. Keep them coming.
Take care, Chris.

Fantastic piece, written with your usual flair and panache. It is hard when you feel lonely, everyone else's enjoyment at being part of a couple or group seems to be magnified when you feel by yourself.
As somone who knows you and thinks of you as a friend, I can honestly say to people out there
"This lady does not not deserve to be lonely"
Great work, hope you can call on me when you feel alone, though I know I'm so far away.

Steve

A nice write.
I can relate
to feeling of loneliness
I too gravitate.

But know,

Loneliness is a sickness
I, my friend, am that cure
together we will stengthen
and together we will endure.

always, 2bpositive.

I relate to this piece very greatly. It's kind of strange when you get to the point of being alone so much that you begin to like it.
