I don’t want to close my eyes,
Because falling asleep
Partially erases you from my mind.
I don’t want to close my eyes,
Not even a blink,
Because I want to stare at you forever.
I don’t want to close my eyes
For fear of forgetting you.
I wouldn’t bear it.
I don’t want to close my eyes
Because when I open them again
I realize you are not here.
You never were.
