Life, See Appendix 14

Contributed by puppy_dog_eyes on Friday, 22nd October 2010 @ 01:03:01 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Another paragraph missing
Washed away with the dishwater
Racing to the next comma
Thoughts scattered in yesterday's old clothes

Pages in unexpected order
Haphazard morning chases the clock
A series of footnotes
Missed calls and a diary unvisited

The title is me
A glance in the mirror verifies sanity
Narrative the work of another
Vague recollections of missed appointments

The ghostwriter pens another line
Worlds collide when the telephone rings
As the plot twists again
Tomorrow is already an oncoming storm

Margins play host to processed musing
Calendar markings puncture the future
Staccato sentences splashed by exclamations
Another day underpinned by madness

Life............See Appendix 14

Can totally relate to this - I think we become so entrapped within our work and family obligations - we do forget about ourselves and there always seems to be someone else wanting something from us -
Life? Yes as you say "see Apendix 14.

Well done matey.

Keep smiling - it makes your eyes dance when you do.

Jules.

This is how I feel when I try to balance my family with working from home. Fantastic piece!

I very much enjoyed reading 'Life, See Appendix 14' There is only one problem: I keep looking for Appendix 14 and somehow I can't find it; maybe I got a misprinted edition of 'Life?' At any rate, a great poem on an all-too-familiar theme -- probably for all poets here... (Did I say that already?) A very funny and tumultuous poem -- not for the weak-hearted. Thanks for many smiles -- FlintHunter
