Yesterday you gave me all I needed
A love that was never in doubt
Today I am left with just your memories
As I piece together what our love was about
Tomorrow I will try and be strong
I'll move forward with this life of mine
I have learnt from my mistakes and the troubles I have found
So let me turn back the hands of time
Your shadow I still see every day
Your voice echos around the room
Every night I leave the windows open
Praying that you'll come back and lift my gloom
Because I'll not forget the sight
Of your soft and gentle face
I will never forget
Your loving, warm embrace
I know how I feel for you
I was sure I found the one
But I watched you drip away
Like a snowflake melting in the sun

So sad......every night i leave the windows open..... clinging on to the hope that someone will return then the hopes fading away like the snowflake, through the sadness lovely poetic metaphors and above all the expression of a big heart x |

It's a very strong and emotional piece, and the ending is right on the money.
Somehow I found it haunting yet strangely peaceful.
I guess poetry is many things, to the reader one thing and to the writer another.Be that as it may, if it stirs something then it has served its purpose.

Sounds like it's over between the two of you. But trust me, you are able to move on. And maybe your next love affair will be even more intense, more meaningful, and will last forever. Keep on writing and putting your feelings to poetry. You are VERY very good at it. I mean it! |
