My Rant to Tre

Contributed by Elizabeth_Teresa on Sunday, 20th April 2003 @ 06:35:00 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

You drive me crazy,
You drive me insane.
With everything I’ve done for you
And you treat me this way.

I spoiled you too much
And this is what I have to show.
A heart broken in so many places
Flung around and such.

Where was this new great girl?
Better yet, where was anybody?
When your world was falling apart?
And where was I?
Right by your side.

I’ll love you until my dying day
But if this keeps up,
This leaf might meet its shadow
This storm will meet its bay.

I gave up a world for you
Always acclimated myself to your needs
Always put you first
Now I know what not to do.

I can’t believe this,
Even our friendship is mere rubble
All because you couldn’t take the time
To make sure that nothing was amiss.

We’ve done this before
We’re doing it again
Fighting like cats and dogs
Scratching each other down to the core.

You know what hurts me
And I know what hurts you
We exploit each other’s passion
Weaknesses are we.

I try to put my foot down
Saying no more with this
Outward I am smiling
But in my heart is a frown

Without you, I’m a mess
With you I feel at home
But it’s getting to be too much for me
This, I must confess.

So where do we go from here?
After all is said and done
I suppose I’ll talk to you again sometime
Or perhaps not, I fear.

HI ,ELIZABETH-TERESA,
YOU EXPRESS YOUR SELF VERY WELL IN THIS POEM.
I HOPE YOU AND YOUR FRIEND ARE ON GOOD TERMS NOW,
BECAUSE I WON'T WANT NO ONE TO FEEL THIS WAY ABOUT ME,
VERY GOOD.

Richard,
Thank you for your words. I wish I didn't have this rant to voice, but I guess it comes with putting yourself on the line and giving your all to someone. There's always that risk. I don't take it back, but rather wish things would have happened differently.
