Cerulean Blues

LostLove

China white, her skin to me
and eyes of blue to shame the sky
she loved and left me suddenly;
I never thought to ask her why
I never thought to ask her why,
as angels choose to come and go
I had my love, I often sigh
now my measure of sweet woe
yes, my measure of sweet woe
from lips departed, cherry red
and union, sensual and slow
gone, but still within my head
gone, and still inside my head
I can’t let go, or so it seems
loved and lost is best, some said
but still she lingers, in my dreams.

A sad but beautiful piece of writing. Well constructed and very well executed. |

Hi Spike,
Another great piece of verse in your familiar and
unmistakeable style.
You've captured ''Lost love'' and all its emotions
with brevity and precision.

I bet you drew the picture too, what? A sensitive and beautiful poem with its own special ironic twist. i have now found -- by way of your kind comment -- an unique poet on this site: one who probably has far more gifts than even he knows. What can I say: Cerulean Blues is an incredible poem. Just. Right.
