Second Chance

The real beauty isn’t love
It isn’t dreaming of a wedding day
It isn’t that first kiss
That takes your breath away
The magic, the luster gone
Reality soaked in, soggy fear
No forces of mind can convince me,
But I still want you here
To soar up high and feel the clouds
Great until you come back down,
But now I know how to swim,
Holding my breath so I don’t drown
A comfort, stable I have now
So I don’t get lost in you
Cannot lose what I cannot find
No matter how hard I want to
The irony of it all
Is the price of a firm stance,
Love isn’t worth the time
But it’s worth the second chance.
