Looking deep into her eyes
I saw the years and tears she cried
I felt the mournful plea rise from within
the ghosts of yester- year ride the winds.
The hurt and torment freely flowed
a beautiful flower now alone.
Innocence lost beside the way
a grown woman with a little girl left astray.
I felt the sadness at times she tried to hide.
I knew the rivers of tears alone she cried.
I saw the ghosts that haunted her
I saw the woman and in a blink the little girl.
In part I understood the pain she knew.
For there were times I had felt the same too.
Then within a tempest of her storm
there were parts I couldn't imagine , so forlorn.....
Within the fractures of souls and hearts collide
and in the air the spirits ride
smiling through tears, the bitter-sweet
A Souls Gathering, where tragedy and hope do meet...........
note: This came after spending an afternoon with someone I have not known long,
abuse hurts for many years, some live like a shadow long after in its wake........
My heart hurts ............

| That was beautiful...I love the melancholy in it...its almost like you have pathologically diagnosed the source of this hurt and pain...you can almost live in this poetry....:-) |
