Nonchalance

She holds her head up high,
She doesn't give a damn.
She says, "They can say what they want to,
That won't change the way I am…"

I give her massive respect
For facing everyday.
They spit at her as she walks by,
But she just turns and looks away.

*~*How can you smile everyday?
How can you turn your back
On the cruel things that they say?
Who'd want to live like that?

If ever you can't take any more,
And you get tired of pretending…
I'll be here with open arms,
With love and care never ending!*~*

She's nonchalant by day,
But the tears, they come at night.
She wears a mask to hide the pain,
But I see past to what's inside…

I can see you're aching,
Slowly giving way…
You can't keep it bottled up,
Listen to the words I say..

You know you've got a friend,
When it seems there is no one.
I'll be here until the end,
You can bet 'til my time is done!

So let me tell you now,
Turn that frown up side down.
Cause in me you have a friend,
When no comfort can be found…
