While the dawn grows all around me
Dolphins frolick, seagulls cry
Waves crashing dull my senses
And the breeze just whispers by
The sand is still wet from the last high tide
And my soul is fresh from the view
My body's as ease for the first time in years
I feel so alive, so brand new
Just a small town girl from the outback
I'm in awe of the sight that beholds
I know deep inside this is where I belong
As the real me begins to unfold
I watch the tiny soldier crabs
Scuttle sideways through the sand
In the distance play my children
On the shoreline hand in hand
I breath deeply, smell the salt air
Turn my face toward the sun
Bask in the warmth of it's glow
At the woman i've become
All around now are signs of life waking
People eager to start the new day
I thank god with all i am made of
Because I was blessed here today.

Nicely written. Plenty of imagery in this piece. Very good.
All the best, Chris. |
