Cinnimon Betrayal

Contributed by CarrieLindeman on Thursday, 23rd September 2010 @ 06:54:00 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

I sit on the plush pink carpet of the floor

I remember back to a night like many others before

You let me hold you like we used to

I could feel you pulling away

I didn't let myself overthink you

My corsage was fresh

You gave your mom credit

Your tie didn't match my dress

And for once you cared more than I

At dinner before the dance

We got cinnimon candles

We smelled the sweet fragrance

I took mine home

You left yours there

Every night before I let my mind roam

I would breath in the scent of the sweet air

My mind would spiral backwards

Into your arms that night again

You told me the truth

The sad, sick truth

You thought it did not matter

That our love was in the past

But by telling me the truth

Every memory of you

Is tinged with heart achy feelings

You never really loved me

I burned that candle last night

The flame flickered for hours

When the scent reached my nose

It smelled bitter.

Oh, this is so sad. Your emotions poured off the page. You deserve better.
Take care, Chris.

I'm sure he's missing out, because he doesn't deserve someone as great as you. You are filled with wisdom and potential, i hope everything works out. This was a beautiful piece.
