On a cold still Kilkenny night
I ventured outside
To capture the sight
Of the emerald dressed in dew
With hair of shining silver
And eyes of piercing blue
When I came upon a horse, retired I supose,
For he stood proud in a wholly coat
Devoid of unnatural clothes
And oh what a sight!
This Kilkenny night.
Between trees stripped by the winter wind
I looked at the moon
And the old man grinned
Then lonely I went down to the stream
Where the stars dance
And the shadows dream
Of daylight and time to rest
Kilkenny at night I love best.
Then I went on my way along the track
Home to a place called Mulligan's shack
Deep in the heart of the woods, snug against Ireland's breast,
Kilkenny at night I love best.

Wonderful flow from start to finish, this had me grinning and intrigued by this mysterious place called Kilkenny. Loved the rhyming scheme too. Great job! |

I agree this is beautiful and you made the place with all its magic come to life and I found myself there. Loved this!
