She spent her life looking,
yellow crumbs in her eyes,
like mutton fat,
and that white foam at her lip’s edge.
Semen, she once would have joked
Then prayed for forgiveness
For something she hadn’t yet done.
She would die a virgin
in many ways.
So many firsts that she never allowed herself.
Clammed up with fear and
Anxious at her own desires.
Buried in a box
that at least once lived.
