Have you ever just watched a clock tick?
It seems like such a literal waste of time.
But it is something worth admiring.
The clock keeps ticking,
Every second,
It never gives up even though it knows
That it is doing nothing but
Pass the time till end is near.

I've felt this way. Particularly in empty rooms with memories that were made under the watchful eye of that still ticking clock. The device can seem entirely responsible for having removed the present to the past. |
