No one else...

Topic: LostLove

they couldn't understand,
how i could just walk up and take your hand,
and instantly know,
i loved you and we needed each other to grow,
and to move along-
but b/c of them,
i decided to be strong-
so i pushed you away,
without trying to explain,
when you were gone,
i just didn't feel the same-
and i always told you,
we'd be back together someday,
but somehow you knew,
tomorrow may not always come through,
and you swore i'd realize,
that you were the one,
b/c for some reason we both knew,
we were each other's first love-
without saying a word,
though love is sometimes blind-
it's always heard,
no matter how many times you deny it,
and flip the bird.
so i tried to hate you but it didn't work,
all i accomplished,
was making us both hurt-
and you refused to believe,
i could live with myself if i made you leave,
and what was funny about it all,
was the fact that you knew i did fall,
and i was annoyed b/c i cared to much about what other's thought,
and at the time pushing you aside,
seemed better than getting caught.
maybe i broke our hearts,
to prove to myself,
if we were apart,
it would be hell,
and that i truely did need just you-
and no one else........

I really really liked your poem. I liked the natural flow of your words and the relatability :))

This is a shame. From what I gather you were more concerned about what your friends thought and so chose to abandon this guy against your real feelings for him. A little sad but worded nicely.
Take care, Chris.
