It's a fine balance I'm striking here
between walling myself up and letting you catch a glimpse.
Constantly rebuilding, just to let you break through.
A hypocritical battle as I've set my sights so deeply on you.
I know it isn't fair to take so much and offer much less,
but so it goes.
Brick by brick they go up,
waiting for you to knock them down,
to tear me asunder.
And I do want them shattered,
to stand in the center of the ruins
of all my insecurities, all my expectations
and to stand there with you.

Strong heartfelt write, showing strength of character determination and emotional intelligence with an overall yearning for the summarising last line..... to stand there with you, |
