In The Land Where I Live

Contributed by pURePOISON on Saturday, 11th September 2010 @ 06:35:32 PM in AEST
Topic: anguished

In the land where I live
Lonely lovely smiles fade
Cold claustrophobic walls, a big charade
Never fitting anywhere at all
A puzzle piece broken and betrayed
A book with no title
Ripped and frayed

In the land where I live
Ghosts of lost souls
And holes in the ground
a waste land that will never be found
Rocky cliffs
Blood filled seas
Lifeless bodies filled with disease

In the land where I live
Whispers in the night, a death delight
No need to fight, No end in sight
Find me…
Save me…
Can’t find the love you say you gave me
I promise God I will behave
The day you put me in my grave…

This is a very good poem.
It reminds me of teenage angst; anger, hurt and maybe a glimpse of hope all rolled into one.
I'm sure many a person can relate this to those years.
