WE WON'T FORGET 911

I was living across the water
When I saw a heap of bricks and mortar
I stood and watched the TV
At scenes that will live with me
At first I thought it was an accident
I didn't think any harm was meant
Then I realised as the coverage grew
This was the biggest tragedy I knew
Seeing the fear from the people on the ground
Rescue workers were running around
Round the clock they worked and tried
To keep as many survivors alive
What of the families that lost loved ones?
The children that won't see their dads or mums?
They cry the tears and show their pain
Their lives won't be the same
Once the dust had settled, revenge was the word
An action that I thought was absurd
We didn't need another world war
But then again we didn't want more
The ones who lived can tell their tale
About this devastating, destructive trail
And when they look at themselves in the mirror
They know they survived this terror
And we won't forget 9/11
When those people died and went to heaven
Some never got to say 'Goodbye'
When the twin towers came crashing down
It felt as if the world had drowned
And I still can't work out why?
But we won't forget 9/11

You are absolutely correct most of us won't forget. I know I won't. But would you know I saw a post on someone's facebook page that had forgotten. I can't forget...ever. All I have to do is just see those numbers, 9-11 and it clicks. Even if I'm really really busy, even if for a brief few seconds, I sort of flinch.
Thank you for posting this well scribed tribute. I, for one, am glad you did.

It's refreshing to see how staged world events play out in other countries...and to get the feedback of an average pool hustler from England..a quiet man who said his piece and Tim responded, flinchingly, when his mind wanders to 911...he himself has lost the war on terror..he's mildly terrorized...in a busy, hectic day...your bill comes to nine dollars and eleven cents,mam...POOF!..oh..my..god..911 all over AGAIN!...So you see,Chris, the tragedy of the situation is the usa's paid operatives took down both buildings..without actually needing airplanes to hit them...the jets were used as a diversion and for 'DRAMATIC EFFECT"..a made in Hollywood term...thats my Canadian perspective from the former Northern Alberta Snooker Champion...he..he..fancy a game,Chris? |
