There are two of us
Posing in the foreground
On the monument

A photo opportunity
In the nice part of the city
That city

But we were never more than beasts
You or I
Or the camera man

The animals
Immortalised in bronze
Mean little

In the background
Do you see
Smaller than us
A drama more exciting?
