Crescent Moon Solitude.

The sky is weeping star tears
High above the moon dappled lake.
The air is thick with the pungent spices
Of wood smoke from cottage fires
And the windfall fruit in the orchard of my memory.
By the lake's edge I sit alone but not lonely
Tucking the night snug around me
And from the hushed wood I hear an owl,
His heartbeat throbbing in the night air.
And all around the lullaby of water,
The clear nectar of the hills.
And sat there in the spotlight of a crescent moon,
I was delivered of a small thought that gave birth to a certainty.
At this moment no single man,
No creature on God's earth was as happy as I,
More content in his solitude.

A very lovely poem. Its obvious that you are of an underlying truth, and that would be that of the creating hand of God! keep it up! It's nice to see. |

A nice poem, I especially liked this bit:
'And from the hushed wood I hear an owl,
His heartbeat throbbing in the night air.
And all around the lullaby of water,
The clear nectar of the hills.'

This is dripping with vivid imagery and gave me such a warm feeling reading it. I literally want to crawl inside this poem! :) |
