Crumpled paper,
Torn dreams,
Shattered hope,
Jewelry in the trash.
You've done these things to me,
But I tell myself I don't care.
And when I try to ignore you,
That beautiful smile grabs me,
Those eyes capture me,
They won't let me go.
I laugh at your jokes,
Even though I can't hear them.
The thoughts of what could have been race through my mind,
And it's too much to bear.
I love to see you.
I hate to see you.
I try so hard to hate you,
After all you've done to me,
But when I approach you,
Ready and confident to speak my mind,
[I memorized what I would say last night]
My body goes numb.
You're surrounded by friends,
And I start to realize,
I want to be one of them.
Let's be friends.
Then you say we ARE friends..
But are we?
Are you sure?
I love you.
I hate you.
I am in heaven in your presence.
I can't stand you.
