Moms Easter Tradition........

Contributed by LOWMAN613 on Friday, 18th April 2003 @ 11:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: Holiday Poetry

Well another Easter will soon be here,
just to let you know,
all youve missed in the past year,
after we saw you go,
The kids are growing everyday,
you really would'nt believe it,
and the things they often say,
from their little charm & wit,
This Easter wont be the same,
knowing youre not here to share,
The glory in the egg hunt game,
the one you always made fair,
Filling a little of your love in each basket,
is what I'm trying to do,
just so the kids wont forget,
the tradition made by you,
The smile on your face each year,
watching each child at play,
still brings a sadend tear,
just knowing what you'd say,
The kids will never forget you,
this I'm sure of,
we tell them what you use to do,
By the grace of your tender love,
there will by a time the kids will be grown,
and they'll carry this on through,
for all the years we have shown,
what we learned from you!

By Christina Lowman
In Memory of my mother Ursula
We will always pass down your love!

Christina....I am in tears... this is such a touching and beautiful write to your Mom.. I thought of my Mom today and missed the 'salmon and ground provisions' that she cooked traditionally every Good Friday...
Hope you enjoy the rest of the Easter Holiday with your hubby and boys...
Jenni

I know the feeling...My Momma is gone too. But we must remember that they live on in our hearts and our children.
A beautiful tribute to your Mother.
I am sure she is looking down on you with love and pride.
Great write,
Sharon;)

awww christina, so sweet, written about your mom, a very special lady, as i have seen in your writings of her, it's never easy to loose someone through death yet, maybe it's just me, but i think the ones who really loved us in life do not leave us, and are certainly kept alive within' our hearts, keep reminding the kids about her too:) very loving write, much love n' hugs nessa

Christina--What a beautiful poem... Mom would be sooooo proud of you, which I know she is. I'm sure she is lookin down at you. I felt her by me, when I was doing eggs. She was very fair to the kids, which I find my self doing, checking the baskets to make sure they are done right. Making sure we don't forget the new child born in the family and to learn about their OMA.You and me are so much like mom, and we have to go on and do all the traditions she thought us to do. You being a mother, and me a mother and Oma we wil carry her on and she is still alive because of US.. I love you... keep up the writing,I always love reading your poems... Love ya much Monika

Dear , Christina, Your poem is a lovely tribute and you are a wonderful tribute to your wonderful mother. It is so good to tell the little stories about things Grandma used to do
and look at the old photos again so the kids will remember her. Friend Bizzy
