Behind yourself, regrets linger.
Poor choices that came about,
Bring sorrow amongst pure heart,
And brings forth the future full of doubt.
Environments forced light to succumb,
To the future no longer seen.
Blinded by past regret in present.
Black night overpowers ability to intervene.
Let go, bring hope, overcome.
New surroundings extinguish past.
Unfamiliar light can shine through.
Light will forever last.
Your consternation of supposed future,
That past brought about restrain.
Let consternation steer towards light,
Where there is no longer pain.

I love the feeling I get from it, but it's a bit bumpy. Some words interrupt the flow, and make me slow down and focus on the word, not the message of the poem. It's good, but it seems that some words just get in the way of the flow. I liked it, though and thank you for a great poem.
