The Simplicity of Poetry

Contributed by fragilestrength on Wednesday, 18th August 2010 @ 03:01:56 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Strolling through a garden at night
sketching the view
describing the smell
hearing the sound of your beating heart
all explained in an unequivocal sentence

The delicate breaking
of the fragile human soul,
which takes years to wear down,
and a few more to expose the break
can be described in half a page

The ability to fall in love
takes a second to maim
and takes a second more to embellish
all of this can be elucidated
in a single word- a single glance

fragilestrength, PLEASE: To help keep this site INTERACTIVE, please read and comment on at least 3 poems for each one you submit. This does not include commenting on your own work. Your comment on End of Winter has been removed. If you want to thank someone, please send them a private message.

As of this posting, you have posted 30 poems and have only commented on 3 poems by other site members. This is unacceptable. This is your last post until you bring your comment count to at least 31. You're actually supposed to be leaving 3 comments for EVERY poem you post. Thank you.

Number of poems per author per 24 hours are limited depending on membership level and interactivity.
