Miracles Do Happen

Contributed by S_K_Williamson on Friday, 18th April 2003 @ 07:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

I always thought those miracles
were meant for others to partake
Oh...how little did I ever realize
that was all one big mistake

A miracle has truely happened
yes...it came to me by mail
My children I had longed for
were determined to prevail

My daughter...and my son
I've grieved for all these years
are back...in my life now
I cannot contain my tears

These tears are purely joyful
for I have heard their voices too
If I am asleep...don't wake me
couldn't stand if it's not true

My daughter sought her brother
to find him...no small feat
No...she didn't give up there
oh no...her plan...we all would meet

How shall I tell these feelings
overwhelming love and pride abound
True beauty...love...happiness
when I hear their voices sound

You see...they use this special word
when they write to me...or speak
They call me...Mom...it's wonderful
there is nothing better I could seek

They've been gone almost thirty years
now...in my heart...they're here with me
Soon...I'll hold them in my arms
a better day...there will never be

There's more joy...I have to tell you
I know...'aint it all just great
I get to be a loving Grandma
they have children...count 'em eight!!!

I want to thank my daughter,Tricia and my son,Evan. You have answered my prayers. I feel complete now.
I love you both so much.
Love,
Mom

Tricia, this is all because of you...thank you

I had chills when I read this ... I did this same thing for my husband who was adopted and I sent a letter to his natural Mum about 8 years ago - we found his natural parents had married and had more children after him - so he found he had blood brothers and sisters as well which was incredible - he was so glad he got to know his father for about 6 years before he died ... his mother still lives a few suburbs away, so it was very eerie when we found them all living so close. I am so very happy for you as I know the wonderful times you will have ahead with the children, grandchildren, photos from the past, so many wonderful memories to share. Good luck to you.

Wonderful poem too :))) Jan
