My Lovers Eyes

The eyes are often referred to as
The windows of the soul,
So often seen but rarely shown
the reasons never known.
Out your windows gaze a firefly
That burns without a care,
A fiery spark ignites a flame,
ten thousands oceans can not bear.
Though your skin is fair
And lips as sweet,
As finest orchards grow;
Your beauty rises far above,
The winepress threshing floor.
For beauty it so oft it is,
For shortest moments known.
For time it comes and ticks
The clock,
The wilting of a rose.
In this you hold the key to life,
To freeze the sands of time.
True love ablaze
My lovers eyes
Engulf this world O mine!

Really like this. I like most, the poems that rhyme. Like how this one reads, great job! |
