It Could Have Been the Sunset

Topic: LovePoetry

It could have been the sunset, you always loved the sunset
Your face was made more radiant, by the setting of the sun
It could have been the sunset, you always loved the sunset
Yes it could have been the sunset, made me fall in love with you

It could have been the soft rain, you didn’t mind the soft rain
Your lips were made more tender, by the falling of the rain
It could have been the soft rain, you didn’t mind the soft rain
Yes it could have been the soft rain, made me fall in love with you

It could have been the moonlight, I know you love the moonlight
Your beauty made more perfect, by the soft light of the moon
It could have been the moonlight, I know you love the moonlight
Yes it could have been the moonlight, made me fall in love with you

When nature and a true love, together came a calling
Hand in hand advancing, they brought me to my knees
My heart was soon unfolded, surrendered to another
Yes and in the act of giving, my life was made complete

It could have been your laughter, the sweet sound of your laughter
My heart was lifted higher, by the spirit it set free
It could have been your laughter, the sweet sound of your laughter
Yes it could have been your laughter, made me fall in love with you

I only know I’m longing, to move within your being
To know your love forever, and give you all I am
The world is full of simple things, but you have made them treasures
And everything around me, made me fall in love with you
And everything around me, made me fall in love with you

this is a very sweet write. the words you used have some strong impact. - When nature and a true love, together came a calling
Hand in hand advancing, they brought me to my knees
My heart was soon unfolded, surrendered to another
Yes and in the act of giving, my life was made complete - shows weakness and need followed by acceptance and overwhelming joy. very well written.
