Without a pick to climb
She’s running out of time
Glaring, staring straight up
She cannot see the top
She’s clawing with hands and feet
Knuckles bleeding, no retreat
Her last chance, stance defiant
Time to be self reliant
Nails ripping off her hands- desperate, terrified
Slipping down the rock, gravity and will collide
Desperation, resuscitation, running full tilt
She’s yelling, head down, full of mainly anger and guilt
Lunging toward the rock her neck snaps back
Broken bones and blood, so much, she’s lost track
Bloodied, muddied, staring straight up, no time for delay
With raw fist raised she screamed; “Mountain, move out of my way!”

Yeesh, Scorp, "nails ripping off her hands"...that hurt just to read it.
I enjoyed the conviction of strength in this one. To be beat up, trodden, to be able to get back up again, resist falling into a fit of depression and giving up takes a lot of strength.
Moving past the mountain is only part of the struggle...having the will to want to probably takes more than just a physical state of being.

This poem...that last line..gave me goosebumps (literally).
The whole time I was thinking like "The Ring" trying to climb
up a well, but you tricked me. Very good.

This is one powerful, deep, absorbing write.
my favorite lines,
Bloodied, muddied, staring straight up, no time for delay
With raw fist raised she screamed; “Mountain, move out of my way!”
Now that's what I'm talking about.
Jus move on outta my way!
blessings,
emy |
