Across the seas he came,
To a land without fame.
Children to the number of seven,
Was his gift from heaven.
Toil and trouble over the years,
He slogged with his soulmate in tears.
The time came for her to rest,
Alone he was left to face the test.
Heart overflowing with love on its brim,
He raised his children with a grim.
One by one they soared to heights,
To proudly put his name in sights.
Then came the day of his call,
From the heaven that stood him tall.
The number of seven that was his,
Bade him a farewell of thanks with a kiss.

You sum up his life beautifully.
A wonderful ode, worth reading repeatedly.
