Mental Destruction

Contributed by Paul on Thursday, 17th April 2003 @ 09:35:00 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

Where are you Mom?
I’m here with dad,
I barely remember you,
And the good times we had,
Maybe I just can’t recall the good,
I just remember the time your were mad,
I’ve never understood,
The time you lied,
About the alcohol you had,
Or the time you broke the hanger over my head,
There were so many shitty things you did,
I didn’t deserve to be hit,
I was only a kid,
I didn’t know then,
What I do now,
And it makes me wonder,
If maybe somehow,
I could have changed things,
But I still wouldn’t know how,
Now to hear your voice makes me angry,
You showed me how people can deceive,
Said you hated me,
And told me to leave,
Now you want me back,
But there’s something you lack,
You see I have a heart,
And from it,
Your lies tore a part,
You didn’t do it on purpose,
But you gave me an introduction,
To this wonderful world,
With all of its mental destruction,
It’s sad to know now,
But I’ll find out how to fix it,
Somehow.

Thanks for the hugs, I'm really ok though. Sometimes I just can't help thinking about the past though. Writing poems is kind of a way to let others know that if they feel this way too, their not alone. later
