Dreadful Poison

Contributed by venkat on Thursday, 17th April 2003 @ 09:05:00 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

The ego raised up its hoods
Flashed its flaming tongues
And squirted out its poison
The man who kissed that serpent
Himself turned into a serpent and
Wandered among the trees and anthills
To find the reason for his restlessness
At last found his passion for biting the innocent
Hidden himself in the dark depths of the river of life
O God! Come down to earth in the farm of a little
Shepherd and press thy mighty foot on his head
O lord of life! O divine dancer!
Sing thy soul stirring melodies through
Sweet notes of thy divine flute and dance
Dance thy entrancing dance to turn this serpent
Again into a man to save the river of life and
To blot out the dreadful poison out of his breath

Dear venkat, This is good. It is so different from the familiar words that I hear in my social circles concerning the work of the Lord Jesus.
Your words are a unique perspective, and truthful paraphrase of the long story in a short and to the point verse. Good work. Bizzy

Ven, thanks for steerig me onto this one, and once again I find myself in a different world. As you have probably realised I thought I had cast aside my childhood religion but you keep bringing me to other vantage points where the view is very different.

(I seem to have fallen behined with my normal level of activity on the site and have some catching up to do. The last few poems I've written did not come as easily as usual)

Yes my dear friend, I have observed your poems.. I understood your earlier comments even then I steered you towards this only out iof my respectto you. I don't think you have fallen behind.. we read other poems out of our love to young friends, we share them and encourage them .. we write some thing to please our friends and some thing for our satisfaction.. but breathing some thing is essential to prove our consciousness..venkat
