Timeless Beauty

Contributed by lovingwhispers on Sunday, 25th July 2010 @ 03:01:16 AM in AEST
Topic: NaturePoetry

Golden fades through shivering trees, withdrawing from the earth
Winter's kiss has touched upon, where usually there is birth
Evening calls much earlier, and as days' end steals away the light
I gaze upon timeless beauty,as she undresses for the night

Draped in velvet of sapphire, shimmering diamonds in her eyes
So gently she moves within winter's breath, and stirs the night to rise
Mountain mist has filled the valleys, and a glistening veil of dew
Dances on emerald carpet,as she watches with love anew

Critters of the shadows, come forth to greet her as she sings
Others in their slumber, dream of the all the gifts she brings
Deep within her embrace, there is a tender, calming warmth
And if you will allow her,she will hold you through life's storms

Cast your eyes upon the heavens as she undresses for the night
Allow her to envelop you,as she gently fades away the light
As not only in her golden hours, does she hold a special place
For when the night comes calling, she will show her timeless grace

Golden fades through shivering trees, withdrawing from the earth
Winter's kiss has touched upon, where usually there is birth
Evening calls much earlier, and as days' end steals away the light
Gaze upon her loveliness,as she undresses for the night

Hi LW,

Exquisite!!

Which line did I like best?? All of them!!

I'm pleased it's still the early afternoon for me,
because if I had read this poem in the late evening
it would have gently lulled me into sleep with its
soft engaging musical tones and its profound
persuasive message that ''all is well in the world.''

Beautiful!

Tommy
